Legacy Platform Modernization

  • php 8.3
  • mysql/mariadb
  • it

An aging server on end-of-life software ran critical infrastructure for Dixon Golf and several sister companies. I migrated the database layer to a patched MySQL/MariaDB and updated or migrated every site from PHP 7.x (some as old as 7.0) to PHP 8.3, cutting average page loads by up to 50% and taking queries that ran 24 to 30 seconds down to sub-second, a 30x improvement.

Git-Based Deployment Workflow

  • git
  • devops
  • process

Thirteen legacy sites were edited directly on the production server over FTP, with no source control. I moved every site into its own Git repository, created webhooks that automatically deploy to production on push, and trained developers who were new to Git on the day-to-day workflows they needed. The result: 13 sites consolidated into standardized, version-controlled deployments.

30,000-Device Deployment Automation

  • vbscript
  • automation
  • it

At TeamLogicIT I automated deployments and managed tools for over 30,000 devices using VBScript and KML scripting, managed web applications for clients in healthcare and power generation with 99% uptime, and provided advanced technical support for web applications and automation tools.

Sounds True Online Course Migration

  • rpa
  • uipath
  • etl

I worked with stakeholders to understand and develop an RPA tool to extract the entire course library from their previous e-learning platform and load it into their current one. With the tool, we performed ETL on over 150 courses, each with 10 to 100 pages and videos. The tool has since been used for similar migrations on other e-learning platforms such as PsychArmor, Functional Movement, and GoLearn.

DHS Acquisition Program Baseline Cataloging

  • rpa
  • uipath
  • computer vision

DHS manages projects through Acquisition Program Baseline (APB) documents that measure program cost, schedule, and performance. The documents were often PDFs that had been printed, written on, scanned, and saved again. Using UiPath, I demonstrated our ability to iterate through a provided set of documents, use computer vision to extract their text contents, and store metadata about each APB, such as name, budget, and expected completion, in a database.

Off Market Deals HQ

  • web
  • wordpress
  • rpa integrations

A web app whose backend I developed, used by realtors on the East Coast to buy and sell fix-and-flip properties. The work involved understanding stakeholder requirements, testing several real estate listing platforms in WordPress, customizing the look and feel of the site, building custom RPA integrations with several CRM platforms to continuously populate the listings, and building robust documentation and test suites for continued client management.

FISH.tech

  • web
  • backend
  • microservices

I worked as a backend developer for FISH, a tool for purchasing and managing fix-and-flip, rental, and property development loans. I oversaw the creation of the datatypes used for storing application information and developed the property analyzer API microservice used by the property analyzer tool in the application.

Property Analyzer reverse geocoding API diagram

$ /work/

Property Analyzer API

  • api
  • geocoding
  • spec & lead dev

I built the specification and led the development of an API that accepted a residential street address and a radius, or a set of latitudes and longitudes defining a polygon. With those values, it built a grid of points within the provided area and performed reverse geocoding on each point. We could then look up public record information about each address and build a list of houses comparable to the provided residential address.

AVG to Bitdefender Managed Antivirus Migration

  • it
  • endpoint security
  • 124k endpoints

At Allcovered I was the SME for deploying and maintaining Kaseya Antivirus (managed AVG) and Kaseya Endpoint Security (managed Malwarebytes). I vetted several cloud-managed antivirus solutions against our criteria as a national MSP, designed and wrote the scripts to uninstall AVG or competing antivirus, install Bitdefender, and register each endpoint in our management platform. I wrote documentation, led training sessions with over 800 engineers, and deployed the cut-over script on more than 124,000 endpoints.
